Better-Gro's Special Orchid Mix is a professional-grade bark-based medium formulated from western fir bark chips, hardwood charcoal, and perlite (sponge rock) — the three components orchid roots need to stay anchored, aerated, and free-draining. The chunky bark pieces allow orchid roots to dry completely between waterings, preventing the most common orchid killer: root rot from dense soil. Compatible with phalaenopsis, cattleya, dendrobium, and all epiphytic orchid genera.
